Safari Could Overtake Internet Explorer March 30th, 2008 You may give Apple flack for having and opt-out auto install of the new Safari 3.1 web browser but this is another pure genius move by Apple.  I predict that they will have a 20% hold on the browser market in the next 2 months and eventually overtake Microsoft’s Internet Explorer.  You can’t really hold it against them.  After all, Microsoft has been forcing IE on us for years and enjoying a majority of market share for its efforts. The
