Ars: Apple passes Wal-Mart, now #1 music retailer in US

If this is true, and I don’t see why it wouldn’t be, then it’s pretty incredible. Wikipedia says that October 16th, 2003 was the day the then-named iTunes Music Store launched for Windows, and therefore the masses. So the iTunes Store has, in under 5 years, gone from non-existence to the #1 overall music retailer in the United States.
